Types of chemical fume hoods

Two main types of chemical fume hoods exist. To give you a better idea about them, they are explained below.

· Constant Fume Hood

A hood that exits a constant airflow rate through the exhaust is known as a constant fume hood. Due to this reason, the lowering of the sash decreased the cross-sectional area of the hood. Alongside it, the airflow velocity escalates accordingly with the same proportion. Therefore, we can say that sash lowering assists in getting higher face velocities.

· Variable Air Volume Hood

In variable air volume hood, air-pulled quality varies according to the position of the sash. In it, face velocity does not change. However, exhausted air volume becomes lower by decreasing sash as well as cross-sectional hood area. In addition, it incorporates standard operation and standby mode. You can select any for fulfilling your needs.
